Napa Valley Tour de Cure 2010

The 2010 Napa Valley Tour de Cure for the American Diabetes Association was its biggest year yet with over 2,300 registered riders.  To date over $1 million dollars have been raised and the final tally is still being made.  As detailed on the Tour de Cure website, the funds raised support the American Diabetes Association’s important research, information and advocacy efforts and its mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Dorinda Shipman, the Treadwell & Rollo team Captain and one of the firm’s Principals, has cycled in this event nine times and was co-chair of the event this year. She organized 12 volunteers and 6 riders on behalf of our firm.

A personal message from Dorinda:  “I can’t believe that I have lived with Type 1 diabetes for over 14 years now.  Last year, my father was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and my sister, niece, and best friend with pre-diabetes.  I am more motivated than ever to reach the day when diabetes is a thing of the past. With the great possibilities that now exist in biotechnology and research, anything is possible. Just as diseases like polio have been eradicated, together we can make a difference so that future generations can live in a world without diabetes.  To all my friends, family members, colleagues, and co-workers, thanks for helping me in the fight for a cure!”

Team Treadwell & Rollo has raised $2,650 so far and we have 3 more weeks to continue our fund raising efforts to Stop Diabetes.  You can still donate to our efforts to find a cure by Clicking Here.
